HONDA ELEVATE review | TheRevviewer.com

India has the biggest market for compact SUVs. The highest sales in terms of units after hatchbacks is SUVs. The Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos Is one of the most selling cars in India. We shouldn’t be even surprised by this fact, A car with a butch stance, spacious an premium interiors slice our hearts like hot cake. Honda is legendary car brand. It was the first brand to give Indians premium and fast cars and spoof against the Germans. But Honda never had a True SUV in India (C-RV is a Joke). Well Honda is late to the party and here are few reasons why KIA and Hyundai should be scared.

Powertrain

The Honda Elevate is powered by the same 1.5 NA petrol engine, powering the City. We all know how refined that engine is with a very rev friendly V-Tech taking it to almost 7k RPMs. It produces a decent 120 Bhp of power and respectable 145Nm of torque. Unfortunately you do not get a Turbo petrol option with Honda but, being brutally honest The most selling variant of the Seltos and the Creta is the Non-Tubro one, So I feel it does have a chance in the India market.

Practicality

The Elevate has 220 mm of ground clearance which is class leading. It also has 458 liters of boot space which is as big as a proper D class sedan. It also has one of the most roomy interiors. How you ask? It is built on the same platform as the Honda City, so I genetically inherits the typical qualities of a comfort leading sedan, and also sports the butch precedence of an SUV. It should also return a decent mileage along with  a trademark plush ride.

Features

This is the only car after the MG Astor which gives ADAS in this segment. It also has hazelnut interiors which make me drool looing at it. I am a FAN of BMW cars and the interiors are very similar to that of a 3 series. I really hope the quality and fit finish is respectable. IT get physical buttons for AC controls and Volume controls. It has a massive screen but Honda was given a lot of hell for having outdate console on the City, lets pray its not the case here.

Cons

This car has a lot of Price cutting like one touch up/down is missing for all windows except the driver’s window. It does not get a panoramic sunroof but Honda states it is for safety reasons. It does not have a DCT gear box, it will miss Ventilated seats.

Final verdict

Now this is very early for me to comment on anything but the visuals but the route looks promising. It might miss out some luxury but let me be blatantly honest, The car has everything you need. It doesn’t have the flashy useless stuff and that is alright, provided Honda gets the pricing of this car on point. If the place it aggressively, I assure you this car is going to sell away like hot cake.
