TVS APACHE 200 4V review | TheRevviewer.com

The Apache RTR is the best motorcycle TVS has ever made. It is so powerful it can dust a RE Hunter 350 to dust. For a petrol head who is really into performance riding, this the right beginning vehicle for him. So much so that the Apache was the most selling bike in this segment. Tune in to understand why the Apache 200 might just be the right beginner bike for you.

Powertrain
The Apache 200 has a 200cc single cylinder 4 valve oil cooled engine producing 20.54 hprs and 17 Nm torque. It has a very weird powerband. For bike this class, it should be very refined at lower RPMS and obnoxiously noisy at higher RPMS, But this bike is the exact opposite. It is very jerky at the low end (not an issue on the hunter) but the mid and top end is very very strong. This bike works like a turbo petrol car, Miserable at the low end, spectacular in the mid range. The bike is just 152 KGs and hence the mileage is very reasonable.

Dynamics
This bike has an acceptable in its dynamics. This bike is very nimble, agile and very compliant for city and highway driving. The issue come with the corners. In the whole lot of this segment, this is the only bike is the standard outdated suspension TVS has been carrying. It is not bad at cornering not is it very confidence inspiring to hug the apex. The issue might also be related to the seating position as it is not very performance oriented. Another bummer with this bikes is the brakes. The brakes have a good feel but a miserable bite.

Features
The Apache has a ful LED Headlight which i find polarizing. I am definitely NOT a fan of those headlights rather prefer the one on the 160 2V. It has a very handy button to change ride modes which work like a gem. It also has one of the best Mobile bluetooth interfaces in the segment. It has slipper clutch assist and also adjustable front shocks. That's it. In terms of features, it covers the basics but nothing interesting as such.

Build
Now this is definitely not the best built bike in the segment. It has its shortcomings. But it has a decent built quality and a very satisfactory plastic quality. It feels scuffy thanks to its matte finish but it is decent enough to hold on to.I love the graphics on this bike but its as impressive as the hornet. The cladding is very flimsy and really doesn't live up the legendary expectations.

Final Verdict
This bike is definitely a great package in terms of the powertrain. But im sure you will find better packages in the form of the Yamaha MT and the Honda Hornet. But then, if you want a very economics ride which cheap to maintain, gives good mileage and is the cheapest bike of the lot, this bike should definitely be considered and does tie itself with a VFM tag.
